A commercial property in Arnold, Missouri, had several settled concrete sections near its office entrance. The front sidewalk was holding water instead of allowing it to drain away properly.
The uneven slabs also created a noticeable trip hazard along the route from the parking lot to the front door. Employees, customers, and other visitors regularly used this walkway, making a safer and more even entrance an important priority.
The property needed the main entrance and south walkway raised and supported without the cost and disruption of replacing the existing concrete.
When the STL Polyjack team inspected the walkways, we found:
The concrete itself was still in usable condition. Raising and supporting the affected sections offered a practical alternative to tearing them out and pouring new concrete.
We used our polyurethane concrete lifting process to raise and support the affected sidewalk sections.
Small holes measuring approximately 5/8 inch were carefully drilled through the affected concrete. These holes allowed us to reach the empty spaces beneath the settled slabs.
High-density polyurethane foam was injected beneath the sidewalk. As the foam expanded, it filled underground voids, restored support, and carefully lifted the settled concrete.
The main entrance walkway was raised from the parking lot toward the front door as closely as conditions allowed. We also raised and supported the affected sections of the south walkway.
After the slabs were lifted and stabilized, the access holes were patched and the work areas were cleaned. Polyurethane foam cures quickly, helping keep disruption around the office entrance to a minimum.
The office entrance and south walkway were raised and supported without removing and replacing the existing slabs.

Although existing site conditions can affect the final drainage slope, the concrete was adjusted as closely as possible to improve water movement and create a safer walking surface.
Changing weather, soil movement, erosion, and poor water drainage can cause sidewalks throughout Arnold to settle unevenly. Once gaps form beneath the concrete, the unsupported slabs may sink and begin collecting water.
Polyurethane concrete lifting addresses the problem beneath the slab. The expanding foam fills empty spaces, supports the concrete, and allows settled sections to be lifted with small access holes and minimal disruption.
